New Delhi: Delhi-NCR residents woke up to a humid start on Monday, August 10, with the city’s minimum temperature settling at 27.6°C. According to data from the India Meteorological Department (IMD), the Safdarjung weather station along with Palam, Ayanagar, and Lodhi Road observatories all logged the same minimum reading, while the Ridge area stayed comparatively cooler at 24.5°C.
No Rainfall on Sunday, but Relief Expected Soon
The IMD confirmed that none of the city’s five monitoring stations recorded any rainfall between 8:30 am and 5:30 pm on Sunday. However, the weather office has not ruled out relief from the humidity — its latest forecast points to generally cloudy skies through the day, with moderate rain expected to bring some respite to the national capital. No weather alert or warning has been issued so far.
Air Quality Stays in ‘Satisfactory’ Zone
On the pollution front, Delhi’s air continued to stay within safe limits. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) recorded the city’s average Air Quality Index (AQI) at 88, placing it firmly in the ‘satisfactory’ category. As per CPCB norms, AQI values are classified as: 0–50 (Good), 51–100 (Satisfactory), 101–200 (Moderate), 201–300 (Poor), 301–400 (Very Poor), and 401–500 (Severe).
This comes even as the city continues to grapple with civic and safety concerns — from a recent speeding car accident in Narela to enhanced security deployment across the Delhi Metro network, keeping the city’s administration on its toes alongside the fluctuating weather.
With monsoon activity still active over northern India, weather experts suggest Delhi-NCR could see intermittent spells of rain through the week, offering some relief from the humid conditions.
